*If you haven't downloaded our Revit add-in yet, please download it at www.insitevr.com/revit*
The InsiteVR Revit Add-In creates a smoother workflow to import 3D models into VR. It also allows you to get a triangle count of your model while inside Revit and to go through doors in your model.
The plugin is currently available for Revit 2016 and 2017. Click here to download it, make sure all instances of Revit are closed during the installation.
To use the plugin, open Revit and go to a 3D view. Select the "Add-Ins" tab and InsiteVR's "Export to VR" button.
Enter your InsiteVR email and password. Once you are logged in, you will see a triangle count for the active 3D view.
If you would like to lower the triangle count, close the Add-In's window and make some modification to your view or model. You can see here for tips on reducing Revit triangle counts. We recommend using the "Medium" level of detail.
Once you are happy with the model, go back to the Add-In, check the triangle count and click "Upload to InsiteVR".
A dropdown menu will appear, allowing you to select your project. Select the project and click "Upload to Project".
