360 Image with Revit A360

Autodesk products such as Revit and 3ds Max allow the creation of 360 renders on their cloud service. Rendering in the cloud allows you to keep working during the render period, it avoids the need for expensive equipment and often renders faster than a local job. We recommend consulting Autodesk Gallery website for more information about cloud credit costs.

To create a 360 image in Revit, select an existing camera view or create a new view.

When your camera view is ready, go to the View tab and click "Render in Cloud".

For good results, select the desired 3D views to render and use the recommended settings below. For 360 images, the output type must be set to Stereo Panorama.

Settings Recommended
3D View *Select desired views*
Output type Stereo Panorama (360 image)
Render Quality Final
Exposure Advanced
Width 2046

You will be given the option to receive an email once the renders are completed as well as a time estimate for the job. If you do not choose to receive an email, you can log into the Autodesk Gallery or A360 website or simply click the "Render Gallery" button directly from the Revit View tab.

Once the render is completed, you can log into your Autodesk Gallery account to visualize and download the image.

Once you've finished downloading the ZIP file, open it and select the files titled "imageL.jpg" and "imageR.jpg". Move the files out of the ZIP folder and into your project folder. You will then be able to add these two images to your InsiteVR project.

Note: 360 renders and cloud rendering services are only available in Revit 2013 and later versions. For Revit 2012, you must download an additional plugin.
